Peanut Butter Wolf, of the incredibly influential Stones Throw Records (J Dilla, Charizma & Peanut Butter Wolf, Madlib, Jaylib, Quasimoto, etc), showcases his mixing abilities in a way that's quite different from his other offerings on this "666 Mix." Most of the tracks are metal or industrial songs or related to the two genres, not hip hop or any of the type of music traditionally used by PBW.

Native Nuttz-The Nativez Are Restless

Native Nuttz were a group from the golden age of hip hop who released this album in '94 and unfortunately did not have much lasting influence beyond that era. Bust The Facts (a site worth checking out if you're into obscure hop) is the only blog I can find right now that had a decent post on this album, and a few others have put up their "Skin Flower"/"40z of funk" 12" (a record that I personally think should be a staple of 90's hip hop records), but aside from that this Georgia crew seems to be mostly forgotten and this album is probably collecting dust in crates in east coast used record stores. It's a shame, 'cause "The Nativez Are Restless" is one of my favorite albums to just hang out, drink a 40 or smoke some green with.

Antidote-Destroy Fascism! EP

Unsurprisingly, when two of the greatest anarchist bands ever (The Ex and Chumbawamba) collaborate on an EP, playing eight swift and pissed punk songs, the end result is one of the best anarcho-punk records ever released.

James Plotkin & Tim Wyskida - 8 Improvisations

James Plotking & Tim Wyskida - 8 Improvisations

Nosiy Drone Free Jazz Craziness! Ex-members of Khanate. Really incredible duet of low tuned guitar and drums. For fans of Vibracathedral Orchestra and Flower-Corsano Duo, etc. Though these two go for a much more ominous sound. Relaesed on the awesome ArchiveCD. Check it!

V/A - Rare HarDCore

I can't find any information on this compilation or even a picture (the picture used was cropped from an old DC gig's flyer) to go with this post, so I'm going to assume it's something a lot more informal, probably a mix that I downloaded off of Soulseek years ago. Anyway, here are 13 tracks of 80's hardcore from Washington, D.C. No big names here though, most of this is pretty rare material from often forgotten bands of the era. Double O, Media Disease, Marginal Man, Black Market Baby, Second Wind, Reptile House, Iron Cross, etc.

Furdidurke - November Rehearsal 2009

Furdidurke - November Rehearsel 2009

Just got back from vacation. Starting off posting again with a badass black metal band from the US. Related to Klaxon Records and CW Productions, Furdidurke is probably one of my favorite on those two, if not my favorite recent bm band. Awesome riffs, awesome vocals, and frigid production as always. Get this and all their other releases if you're into Raw BM even the slightest bit.
